What we’re about

Come learn how to effectively free your body of restriction with myofascial release (MFR) self care. Taught by Jeannette Zyderveld, Physical Therapist, expert level Barnes MFR therapist. Each session will be unique and in response to the needs of those present. Myofascial Release is a form of bodywork practiced primarily by physical therapists and massage therapists. John F. Barnes MFR is a unique approach to MFR that is a gentle, full-body and holistic form of body work and stretching/self-care techniques. This Meetup group is about learning how to do self-care according to the principles of MFR as taught by John Barnes, PT.  It involves using traditional stretches, various positions or pressure with your hands into certain areas of the body. Any one "technique" is held at least 5 minutes. You will be guided how to feel, what release is and how to allow your body to take care of itself. This practice is suitable for people who are very stiff or very flexible. If you have a body, this work is excellent for servicing it. It also helps in becoming more aware in your body.    For your comfort, wear loose clothing, use a yoga mat if you have one and a water bottle.     Sessions will be and hour and 5-10 minutes.               Jeannette Zyderveld, PT practices MFR at Therapy in the Forest 971-985-8158
