Let's Play Outside (easy level) Age 55+

Calling all outdoor enthusiasts, age 55+ who enjoy the outdoors. Are you ready to embrace the beauty, sights, sounds and smells of the forest in a non-competitive and fun way?

This group is targeted for age 55+ but nobody is checking IDs at the door. Most of our members are 60+. We have plenty of folks older and plenty of folks younger. Please note: For the safety of our members, a profile photo is required for membership.

We started our group in April, 2023 and we have been growing together. All fitness levels are welcome and nobody is left behind. That being said, members are asked to advocate for themselves and let us know if they need someone to hang back with them. I try to review the general plan and route at the start of events. Events are not limited to hikes or walks. We explore a variety of outdoor activities and events including festivals, outdoor music and vineyard outings. Finally, we embrace taking wrong turns once in a while. It's fun to make new discoveries and can turn a simple outing into an adventure. The idea of exploring doesn't work for everyone so please keep this in mind as you consider joining our group.

Our group strives to be inclusive in every possible way. Kindness, dignity and respect are core norms for this group. We try to arrange additional social time after events when possible. Finally, events are organized throughout the twin cities area and beyond based on the interests of our members. We enjoy going exploring new places. We've received a lot of feedback about where our events are held. While I'm always very much open to suggestions, please understand that it's ultimately my decision as the organizer to set the location, times and events. As a member, all you have to do is decide whether you want to attend or not.

On the donation link, please keep in mind that the cost to me is $360 per year. As the only organizer, I'm responsible for these payments. You can see that donations received cover the first two years but the fourth year is approaching (in April). Meetup does not let me clear the fundraising goal each year.
