What we’re about
Piccadilly Ski Club is a Chicago non-profit skiing, snowboarding and activity club based in the Chicago western suburbs. We are a friendly and adventurous group and like to keep active, socialize and travel. We welcome single people and couples to join us. Ages in our club range from 30 to 70, very active adults. Piccadilly members reside in the Downers Grove and surrounding areas, even as far away as South Carolina, Arkansas and Florida.
Since we plan events all year round, there are many opportunities to meet and make new friends through a wide variety of activities, such as skiing, golf, biking, social gatherings, and trips. In our 50+ year history, Piccadilly has planned hundreds of events locally, and traveled the globe extensively. We've taken ski trips throughout the US and Canada, as well as Europe and New Zealand. Non-ski adventures in our club’s travel history have taken us to Antigua, Costa Rica, Curacao, Dominican Republic, Finger Lakes NY, Jamaica, Key West, Mexico, Nashville and New Orleans. Join us today to make new friends and go on your next great adventure.
Club Meetings start at 7:00pm on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays from August thru April; and during the summer months we meet the first Thursday in May, June & July at Miller's Ale House, 455 E Butterfield Road in Lombard, Illinois.

Starved Rock Hike & Lunch Hike 10:45am/Lunch@1:30pm
Starved Rock, 1, Utica, IL, USSat, Jan 3, Starved Rock Hike & Lunch Join us for a hike through the St Peter Sandstone Formations and waterfalls of Starved Rock Park. Our naturalist guide will lead the hike and share information about the area, history, the canyons, rivers and more. Depending on conditions, we could see the majestic frozen waterfalls and snow-covered woodlands. We usually spot a few eagles too, so keep an eye out. This year our hike will proceed on the St Louis Canyon trail. This happens to be one of my favorite hikes in the park and entails about 3 miles of hiking round trip. We’ll meet at the Main Lodge desk at 10:45am. The hike begins at 11am sharp and should finish up around 1:30pm, at which time we will break for lunch and brew. The hike fee is $20 and includes the guide services, Starved Rock swag, some treats, and a coupon for coffee or hot cocoa from the café. Those interested can enjoy lunch and brew after the hike, whether it be in the Backdoor Lounge or the Lodge restaurant.
- We have reservations for 25 people, so come on out and enjoy the hike, or just lunch. If anybody wants to skip the hike and meet us for lunch, no problem! Notify me if you are interested in lunch only, and we’ll see you there. Make sure you are prepared for the hike and dress accordingly with good hiking shoes and layers. Secure your spot by calling the lodge (815-220-7386) and paying the $20 fee. The group is reserved under Piccadilly Ski Club.
Please email me so I know to expect you there (jfosullivan56@att.net). Reservations are registered only when payment is made. So, if you have signed up on meetup, make sure your payment has been registered at the Starved Rock Lodge phone number. Let me know by email when you have paid. The first paid responders and sign-ups for lunch will be on the list.
Another idea that was brought up by Nancy McG was that there is lodging there and last year some people made a mini vacation out of it by staying there and enjoying the wonderful vintage lodge and restaurant for a little bit longer! Note: Rooms book up early, so reserve yours early. Indicate on MeetUp if you plan to spend the night before at the lodge and gather with other attendees. Lodge reservations will need to be made on your own, the further in advance the better.
Looking forward to seeing you on the trail! – John O9 attendees
