At our events beginner players are always welcomed, skilled players share their knowledge, and competitive play is offered at all skill levels. Come and feel free to work on your personal chess goals, simply be your own unique self, and enjoy the friendship of the local chess community!

For more than two years now, we've been faithfully gathering every Sunday at this cozy coffee spot! It boasts a laid-back atmosphere, complete with spacious tables perfect for gaming side by side. We've managed to keep around half a dozen chess sets and a Go board on hand, plus there's a sweet perk for anyone with an active US Chess membership: 10% off all menu items!
Chances are, you'll find players matched perfectly to your skill level. We've got regulars with ratings over 1600, as well as a few beginners under 500, and plenty in between. Whether it's your first visit or your hundredth, you'll be welcomed like an old friend. Each week, there's a mix of players just getting started and others gladly sharing tips and strategies.
And if Go is your game, you're in luck! We've got a growing community of Go players here, with skill levels spanning the spectrum.
Feel free to drop in whenever suits you best and do whatever feels right: watch, play, learn, or even snack on a chess piece (from your own set, of course).Venue Details:

We meet every Sunday for some Chess at 1 PM. All rating levels are welcome! Ages 10 and up.
CJ is your host at this location to make in-person chess games more accessible to Northwest Valley players! If you have a board and/or a clock, please bring them. If not, no problem. Show up as you are! CJ and the other regulars have a board and clock as well.
