Test-Driven Development with AI Assistance
Will AI take over developer and tester roles? Rob's investigations found that an AI/LLM agent can write effective implementations, but will need very clear, descriptive specifications. Yes, we humans will need to write the tests...first!
Test-Driven Development (TDD) has allowed developers to "think in tests” for over 25 years. And Behavior Driven Development expanded upon the test-first approach by involving everyone on the team in writing readable, user-goal-oriented scenarios.
Rob Myers demonstrates TDD paired with AI, revealing some peculiarities and pitfalls, but resulting in a high level of confidence in the code that is written.
About the Speaker:
Rob Myers has been developing software professionally since 1986, and training and coaching organizations in Agile engineering practices since 1998. His courses blend fun and practical hands-on exercises, Sharon Bowman's Training From the Back of the Room techniques, and first-person stories from both successful and not-so-successful Agile implementations.
Rob recently completed the final draft of his book, Essential Test-Driven Development (Addison Wesley) due out at the end of 2025. He is a Certified Scrum Alliance Trainer who really enjoys delivering his Advanced Certified Scrum Developer course because it’s pretty much an updated XP immersion course (…shhh! Don’t tell your Scrum Master…)
