What we’re about
Calling all Philly concept/visdev artists, bg painters, animators, 3D artists, storyboarders, and pretty much any other artist for the entertainment industries. [If you’re a member who’s been to at least one event, DM me or ask me in person for access to our Discord!]
Open to both aspiring and professionals, this group will feature things like casual cafe meetups and sketch hangs, urban sketching/life drawing, feedback and knowledge sharing, as well as potential structured critique sessions, demand-dependent.
I’ve been working for 3+ years in concept/visdev art, in games and more recently in animation (you can find me online @saralanart), but have been working from home my entire career so far, and so I would love to actually connect in-person with more entertainment industry artists. Especially since Philly has so much beautiful inspiration for our field!
We’re back up on Meetup! Imo their service is overpriced but without a competitive alternative I feel this is the best way to reach other local artists. If you’d like to contribute, even just a few bucks a month, you can do so via the homepage. I will only use these fees to cover the hosting costs, and if there is ever an excess of donations, I will put it towards event planning.
Events will be in Center City for the time being, primarily Rittenhouse and City Hall adjacent, but could branch out to Old City and South Street.
