BOOK AND MOVIE CLUB: WATCHING AND DISCUSSING BOOKS THAT BECAME MOVIES/ SERIES

Details
In an effort to read more, I have started reading books made after my favorite movie or TV series, watching pieces that take me along the professional journey of my favorite actors and actresses, and looking at how they tie together. My preferences are historical, crime, fantasy, sci-fi, true life, and autobiographies, but I am open to reading anything. So, I thought about doing a bi-monthly meetup where we pick a book that has been turned into a movie that has been turned into a book, a movie that has been turned into a book, or an autobiography that references movies. We would meet bi-monthly to discuss the difference between the book and the movie, the quality of the movie itself, the characters we thought could be more developed or left undeveloped, and anything else that leads to a good conversation. These meetups would happen at my house; everyone would be expected to bring snacks, food, and drinks to share with the group. The flow of the event would be 1st a discussion of the book. Second, watching the movie or the associated actors' movie. 3. Discussing the book vs the movie. As it will be at my house, I will provide the address the day off once you have confirmed your attendance. For the first book, we will read and review Gone Girl (2021) with Ben Affleck, and then we can pick a new book at each meetup. Please bring some ideas. I have been considering Kevin Hart's book I Can't Make This Up, Hunger Games 1, Slumdog Millionaire (2008), Twilight Spin-Off (where Bella is a man and Edward is the woman), Passing (2021), and Wild (2004).
