Florence Outside is hosting another Jeffries Creek clean-up paddle!
This will entail a 1-hour paddle launching from Jeffries Creek Nature Park on Wisteria Drive. We’ll paddle upstream Jeffries Creek cleaning up litter or other debris along the way while enjoying the beautiful scenery and community.
Jeffries Creek is a spectacular treasure for the community of Florence. The cypress-tupelo swamp system is home to abundant wildlife including deer, owls, great blue herons, otters, and much more! The swamp acts as a natural filter system, cleaning the water as it flows through it. The floodplain of Jeffries Creek is critical for providing relief from flooding during storm events. As a community, it is our privilege to take care of and protect our waterways from pollution such as litter! Clearing downfall allows us to maintain access to the water and enjoy this resource.
With your paddling gear, please meet us at Jeffries Creek Nature Park off of Wisteria Drive at 8:00 AM sharp! Naturally Outdoors is willing to provide gear for those wishing to volunteer but don’t have a boat (let us know if you need a boat ahead of time)! Trash bags and gloves will be provided.
