This is one of the more unique hikes available in the city limits of Portland.
Here’s the summary. Begin at the Oregon Zoo and start a forested climb up to Council Crest Park where, on a clear day, you can see multiple snowy peaks like St. Helens and Mount Hood.
Head down the Marquam Trail to the top of the Portland Aerial Tram, where you’ll embark on a scenic three minute journey down to the river level.
From the base of the Aerial Tram, hop on the Portland Streetcar and head downtown. To complete the loop, take the MAX back to the Oregon Zoo.
What to bring: hiking boots, weather appropriate clothing, money for the transportation (should cost around $11) and water.
Quick note about my hikes: all hiking levels are welcome. No one will be left behind. These are social hikes which are intended to make friends while enjoying the great outdoors. There will be water breaks and photo ops a long the way.
Everyone will start on the waitlist and must have a clear picture of their face, for safety precautions.
Hikes will get rescheduled if the weather isn’t cooperating. Hikes are popular and fill up fast, if you can’t make the hike, please update your RSVP within 24 hours. If you don’t, this will result in a no-show and you will not be able to attend future hikes I host.
