Don't be shy or hesitant to arrive by yourself, especially if you are new to London or not familiar with social groups and activities of this type. Almost everyone arrives solo and that is really fine! You will be greeted and introduced by the hostess' with the mostest' once you arrive, no one stays alone! Just have a look at the event's description beforehand and know your whereabouts. People that don’t know each other today, become best friends after an event or two! Sounds good, right?
