We are a fun group that loves sailing every day on the lakes and water ways of Central Florida. We also sail the ICW and Gulf coast. We have a small fleet of Sunfish, Dolphin, and Laser sailboats, and a Com-Pac 23 anchored in Palm Harbor, FL. Come learn to sail the Sunfish, and then move up. You can use the Club boats or bring your own and sail on a 500+ acre private lake located behind Disney in SW Orlando.

Welcome to a glorious 2023! Who would have guessed we would be 8 years old in 2023 with over 800 in the group! We are going to make some changes to best accommodate as many as possible going forward. We’ve taught over 300 people to sail and want to continue for all to have a great experience. Here’s a few facts:
· We cap attendance at any event at 22
· Because the events fill up fast, people book 3-4 months in advance.
· Circumstances change. Who knows if you can attend in 3 months?
· Every Event has a 30-40% “no show”, with 5-8 people on a waiting list
· This is not fair to them, nor to us who have to clean and prep boats
So, here’s some changes for 2023 and beyond:
1. There will be no annual dues required to join the group, as usual.
2. We have not raised the price in 7 years. Due to the cost of Gelcoat, paint, sails, processing payments and MeetUp charges, the new event fee will be $35. for 2025 and beyond.
3. If you RSVP, on Monday the week of the event you will be sent a link for a $35 payment.
You must pay on Monday to Wednesday by credit/debit card to confirm your spot.
4. If you do not pay, we’ll move you to the waitlist and clear those waiting.
Remember, we do 2-hour private lessons by appointment for $65 p.p.
Also, by appointment, you can rent a Sunfish for 2-hours to practice, mid-week to weekends as long as I am available to keep watch. The Price is $35 per boat.
These changes will enable Orlando Sailing to continue to provide exceptional experiences not found anywhere else in Florida.

First-timers should arrive a few minutes early to orient and also need to complete the release form. We are family friendly and kids are welcome to accompany parents or grandparents.

Since space is limited, please cancel early if your plans change, because if you "no show" more than once, you'll have to cover the cost of both canceled sessions before you can return.
Significant others are welcome to hang out on the dock at no charge if they are not sailing. Look for the signs at the entrance to the community at Lake Mabel. Park anywhere right on the grass at 11148 Rockport St, Orlando FL 32836. The house is on two acres so there’s plenty of room. Come around the house to the dock and lake. We’ll do intro’s and find out who has previous experience, and who’s learning. If you are comfortable sailing the Sunfish, take along a passenger so they can watch and get the feel of the boat. We often have two people in the boats at a time, and then let people solo as boats are available. Bring your favorite cold beverage, sunscreen, and a towel or change of clothes.
