What we’re about
The NY Drone User Group, part of The Drone Group, is an organization for Beginner as well as Expert Drone users that seek to promote the responsible use of a UAV* / sUAS* for community service, artistic, recreational and commercial purposes.
We will be flying regularly (most weekends, weather and TFRs permitting) and also have a monthly online (joint with NJ Dug) on the 2nd Thursday of every month. Join us from the comfort of home or your favorite spot.
We are part of The Drone Group in NY, NJ, and PA.
We work to educate ourselves about how to use and build Drones in a safe and respectful manner, and to educate the public about the positive role aerial robotics can play in our society.

No, I'm not d#m swearing, it's a Creek with a Dam - and a large flying area..... This is a great place to fly Planes and FPV (I can setup some gates for you to practice - but you must let me know before Friday, so I can get them out of storage).....

TIP: If driving turnpike south, take exit 7A not exit 8 - as you need to be on route 130 north... This way, there are less traffic lights and it puts you on the right side of the road for the entrance...
If you take exit 8, it'll put you southbound on route 130 and you'll have no access to the entrance, so you'd need to do a U turn someway down the road....

On our monthly online meetings, you connect from home (or your favorite spot) and watch the fun, talk to other members or guests, get news updates, see some videos from our database, show some of your own videos and photos (or send me a link to your favorite YouTube video and, 'if appropriate' 😉 I'll show it) and generally have a great time.....
Minimum of 4 Members (not including the Host) or it will be postponed...
I've scheduled this as a two hour event that you can join at any time as long as you have RSVPed to 'Attend' before the event starts (let me know if you're joining us late). We also keep going as long as there are interested active members online, which is often the case...
For security* reasons, RSVP to Attend in the usual way and I'll send you full instructions by eMail the night before on how you access from almost anywhere in the world using the app of your choice (see http://alturl.com/tfdiz) that you can download from http://Zoom.us

^ Meetup charges Organizers over $18 per month (it's not free like it is to members) and Zoom $15 per month.- We do it this way, to avoid getting destructive meeting crashers.

Our Mini Airstrip with north and east/west runways in a T shape can be used for Drones or Planes. There's plenty of space around to fly over and out towards the lake......
