I'm glad to see that Chocks Away, the cafe at Tollerton Airport (sometimes called Nottingham City Airport), will still be open at least over Easter. With the threat of closure hanging over them due to the new owners of the airfield land seeking to replace it with housing, we can't know how far into the future it will be possible to schedule visits. But they say on a Facebook post that they will be open over the whole of Easter, so I'd like to try them again. This time a little earlier, so we can sample the breakfast menu.
What to expect? It's quite a basic cafe, but pretty much everything can be done vegan or vegetarian. Filled cobs, pizzas, burgers, chips and things, jacket potatoes, and many other breakfast and lunch items. But the real stars are the amazing vegan cakes, and other dessert items. I'll add some pictures to Photos to give an idea. They can also make cakes to order so if you're going you could put an order in and pick it up during your visit.
Meanwhile you also get to see planes take off and land! If it's warm and dry enough we could sit outside.
There's parking onsite, and the 33 ECOnnect bus from Friar Lane stop F2 at 10:23 gets you there for 10:53. Return buses on the half hour.
