What we’re about
This is a group for singles in Northeast Ohio, including Cleveland itself and all its suburbs, interested in forming new friendships, networking, and finding and keeping long term romantic relationships. I started this group because while other local singles and dating groups foster events to encourage people to meet I wish our events to focus more specifically on forming friendships, professional networks, and in finding and keeping that right person to spend your future with. While we welcome everyone who is serious these endeavors. This group is specifically designed for successful people in their 20's, 30's and 40's who while not necessarily needing assistance in finding dates and forming such relationships seek to benefit from the most cutting edge knowledge, research, and strategies involved in finding and keeping healthy relationships and that special person. To that end we will create an atmosphere to encourage our members (without providing therapy or counseling) to get beyond the small talk of first encounters and communicate effectively their needs, desires, and long tern goals in forming relationships that last. In this effort, we will, whenever possible, bring in local dating consultants for presentations, and will conduct monthly book review discussions of the latest, advanced, and most highly reviewed books on relevant topics. Finally, we will seek to host unique and creative events in conjunction with other meetup groups, when applicable, that will get people talking and make for interesting memories. Previously called the West Side Dating and Relationships Meetup Group, requests from many people to expand this group to include the East Side prompted the name change. I will maintain the established agenda and schedule for West Side events and create comparable events for the East Side. Events involving the entire area will also be planned. In addition, to achieve success, diversity of membership is essential so that people of different ages, occupations, and walks of life, can share their experiences and perspectives. To this end, the older people already in the group, and those who wish to join later can share their experiences and enable younger relationship seekers to benefit from their knowledge and avoid mistakes they might have committed while younger people can relate their present efforts and provide an active dynamic dialogue for group discussions.
