What we’re about

We call this a convergence because several other groups have elected to share the same meeting space and time – another programming group, a web design group and a group of (mostly Wordpress) bloggers.

The knowledge represented is very broad ranging. We get front end developers joining us as well as hardcore programmers with impressive skills who code for web and handhelds in PHP, Java, jQuery, C, .net, AJAX, mobile; CMS systems including Drupal and Wordpress; database management ... and other languages and platforms.

The evening typically starts off with people chatting one group and as the evening progresses people find the conversations or troubleshooting partners that interest them and break out into small groups to examine code together and look at each other's work projects. These meetings are great learning environments and good for meeting people too.

Due to the intense level of individuality and independence in the programming community, many members of our group don't like to RSVP, but we typically get 15 to 30 people coming out to meetings.

Headhunters are welcome to send notices of job postings and to drop by to say Hi and meet members of the group.
