Tomas Francisco
Talk 1: The State of Web Components in 2025
Web Components are over a decade old. Despite multiple waves of interest, they’ve never become the mainstream choice for building user interfaces - especially with the dominance of popular frameworks like React, Vue, and Angular. In this talk, I’ll share my journey exploring Web Components in 2025: where they shine, where they fall short, and how they compare to popular component development workflows. Whether you’re curious about using them in a design system or just wondering why they haven’t taken over, this is a practical look through a frontend developer’s lens.
Fardjad Davari
Talk 2: How far can we go with no-build TypeScript in the browser and what can we learn from it
Modern frontend development often relies on complex build steps and an ever-growing number of tools. What if we strip all of that away?
"Can we ship a modern TypeScript frontend app without a build step?"
In this talk, we'll experiment with that idea, rethink the trade-offs of today’s workflows, and hopefully learn something new from our experiment.
Fardjad is a software engineer and consultant with a broad range of experience in software development, architecture, and technical leadership. His mission is to help teams and organizations build sustainable and adaptive systems that align with both business and customer needs. Outside of work, Fardjad enjoys building software in the open and experimenting with diverse ideas to explore new concepts and deepen his learning.
Bart Kooijman
Talk 3: Turbocharging your website: New developments in web performance
In this talk Bart Kooijman will share his and the industry’s latest learnings, tips, and tricks about building highly performant web sites. He will discuss some of the latest web platform API’s focused on improving performance such as the transition API, speculation rules API and Long Animation Frames API (LoAF). He will also share some of his own findings when it comes to optimizing NextJS based web app performance and how it is influenced by cloud infrastructure.
Bart Kooijman is a full stack developer and architect at Capgemini, specializing in building web-based commerce and marketing solutions using Java, Kotlin, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. With a focus on content management, search, and web performance, Bart plays an important role in the development and optimization of three of the largest ecommerce sites in the Benelux.
