Senior Azure Consultant at Solidify, Cloud DevSecOps Engineer • Microsoft MVP • Microsoft Certified Trainer • MCT Community Lead • Book Author
Session - To be Confirmed
10:40 - 11:10: Speaker 2: Matteo - Director of Software Engineering @ Avanade UK & Ireland | MVP
Session - Are we still talking about security in your development lifecycle in 2025?
Secret scanning? Check. Dependency Management? Check. Static Code Analysis? Check. You manage your secure software development platform, right?
Defensive programming, risk profiles, supply chain management, bill of materials - these (and many more) are topics we must talk about in 2025 when it comes to our engineering practices. A staggering amount of projects still lack these and are vulnerable to security threats even with all the best intentions.
Any organisation is highly likely that you either have a mash-up of tools making up your development platform, or you are shortly going to look at one, because you know how important it is. It is however quite tricky to get right and there are a number of pitfalls in successfully setting up one, given the lack of standard offerings.
Microsoft has a surprisingly clear offer for these needs: GitHub Advanced Security and Defender for DevOps. Let's see how to put them in practice and ensure a safe development experience.
11:10 - 11:40: Speaker 3: Clifford | Freelance Developer that just so happens to fly an Airbus A320 around the Europe. | Microsoft MVP
Session - Using AI and image recognition to help build an Aircraft.
Aircraft components are mostly made of metal and for most aircraft it’s shiny Aluminium.
But all the parts look similar so how do you find the right part and track it during the build or find where it goes in the drawings?
In this talk I’m hoping to show you how I’ve used Azure Cognitive Services and the Image Recognition tools within a DotNET MAUI application to build a mobile app that can used to solve this problem.
Along the way we will geek out a little on aircraft and aviation but hopefully you will leave the talk knowing how to utilise image recognition and build your own mobile applications with your DotNET skills.
11:40 - 12:10: Lunch Break
12:10 - 12:40: Speaker 4: Jake Walsh Solution Architect | Microsoft MVP, HashiCorp Ambassador, & Citrix CTA & Steve Brown - Azure Technical Consultant, CDW
Session - How to Ace those Azure Exams!
An overview session of all of the resources, methods, help, and tips we can think of to help you ace those Azure exams - including Azure Infra, AVD, AI and more! Two seasoned Azure exam takers will guide you on how to get the most from your exam preparation and discuss all things Azure exams and more! Our core focus will be on learning methods, and resources, but we will also cover wider aspects and learning options that have helped us both pass a range of Azure Certifications.
As well as exam prep and tips, we will delve into how you can learn and develop as best possible in the Azure ecosystem - expect lots of anecdotes, chat, and time for questions!
12:40 - 13:10: Speaker 5: Hejer Krichene - Cloud Solution Expert - MVP Azure - INSOMEA
Session - Control Azure Cost using AI
This session will explore how artificial intelligence (AI) can be utilized to effectively manage and optimize costs in Microsoft Azure. Participants will learn about best practices for monitoring Azure expenditures, leveraging AI-driven tools for cost analysis, and implementing predictive analytics to forecast future costs. The session will cover strategies for identifying cost-saving opportunities, automating resource management, and optimizing workloads to ensure efficient resource utilization. Attendees will gain insights into real-world applications and case studies, equipping them with the knowledge to make informed decisions that enhance cost efficiency in their Azure environments.
13:10 - 13:40: Speaker 6: Marcel Lupo Marcel Lupo - Dual category Microsoft MVP in DevOps + Azure | Speaker | Cloud Solutions & DevOps Architect.
Session - Transforming DevOps with AI: Insights from Azure AI Studio
This talk explores how Azure AI can enhance DevOps, DevSecOps, & Infrastructure as Code (IaC) workflows by integrating bespoke documentation, security guidelines, and processes.
The demo, set in the fictional company "Contoso," showcases custom code and documentation using their tailored Terraform IaC, bespoke GitHub Actions, and governance practices. It demonstrates how Large Language Models (LLMs) with private, customised data can accelerate DevOps workflows. While specific tools are highlighted, the techniques are applicable to many other use cases and DevOps practices.
You'll learn how to build an AI assistant for DevOps with an organisation’s unique naming conventions, security guidelines, and guardrails. This assistant can help developers and engineers interpret documentation, ask relevant questions, and generate code examples suited to their Azure environment. This approach streamlines IaC processes, ensuring consistency and improving productivity across DevOps, Platform, and SRE teams.
