After his first 100 days in office, it is time to make an initial assessment of his second term. With more experience, a strengthened Republican Party, and radical plans like "Project 2025," Trump intends to chart a new course that aims for profound changes in the government apparatus and political culture of the USA. This lecture will examine the key measures, their political impact, and the reactions to Trump's renewed presidency – a look back at the decisions that could have a lasting impact on the country. What is the mood in the country?

Since taking office, Donald Trump has deliberately used tariffs as a means of economic and political pressure – sometimes against China, Canada, and the EU. But what are the goals of this strategy? Is it truly about protecting American jobs, or are geopolitical interests at the forefront? The first consequences of this trade policy are already noticeable: increasing trade conflicts, a weakening labor market, and declining consumer sentiment in the US. What can we expect now? What further impact will this development have on the US economy, German companies, and transatlantic trade?
