What about a combination weekend at a GREAT location with all the accommodation and food included, a great SOCIAL atmosphere with a CHOICE of walks every day and on the Saturday as well as a normal circular walk option, the opportunity to instead do either the renowned YORKSHIRE THREE PEAKS CHALLENGE or our very own THREE PEAKS CHALLENGE EXTREME the latter straight from and to our accommodation venue.
Ingleton is a gem at the heart of the Yorkshire Dales and YHA Ingleton a great base to explore all of this wonderful area. It is close to the famed Yorkshire Three Peaks of Pen y ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside which are well worth exploring individually or as part of the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge which can just as easily be tackled from here as well as the more usual starting point of Horton in Ribblesdale. But there is so much else to do in this area we will be spoiled for choice.
We believe some will want to do our NEW Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge Walk from Ingleton which is a cool 29.4 miles and we have put this on as a separate event in the event list to deal with that but sharing accommodation with others on the normal Walking and Social Summer Break.
There are some already signed up for the above which is great but we have also now had requests from some who want to do the Classic (shorter) Y3P Challenge from Horton in Ribblesdale on this particular weekend so have added that as a separate event as well. Everyone will be sharing the same venue and have the option of doing other walks on days other than Saturday when the two Challenge walks will be done.
All the catering and accommodation arrangements work the same for everyone regardless of your Saturday activity choice and walks on Friday and Sunday are open to all.
There is even a wonderful Lido swimming pool adjacent to the hostel for a well deserved swim after a hard day on the hill.
Friday arrival at our accommodation is from anytime after 6pm but we will lay on a bonus walk for those who can arrive in the area for likely 10:30am to ensure we make the best of the day.
We shall be rustling up a delicious hot meal for Friday night with vegetarian option so no need to eat on the way and although we'll serve up about 8pm, there'll be plenty kept for those arriving a little later.
Help yourself breakfasts and lunch packups are provided as is hot food Friday and Saturdays night but feel free to bring desserts, cakes and other goodies to share as well as your own drinks. Tea and coffee will be provided.
Accommodation is single sex bunk rooms of a variety of sizes with full bedding provided but not towels.
Saturday and Sunday routes will be discussed with everyone on arrival to ensure we are meeting overall expectations but on this weekend there are many routes we could choose from, so something for everyone.
The cost will be paid as a non-returnable deposit of just £25 payable when you book via Meetup, to which must be added Meetup booking fees. The balance of £89 will be payable by BACS 12 weeks prior to the event being 24th May 2025.
