Hello and welcome to the Melbourne Chess Society!
This group is a safe, respectful, and inclusive space for everyone. We have zero tolerance for sexism, racism, homophobia, fascism, or creepy behaviour. We’re just a bunch of people who became friends over a simple game of chess.
We host meetups around the Melbourne CBD. Whether you’re new to the game or a seasoned veteran, all skill levels are welcome to join.
As we enjoy a social bev at some meetups, all attendees must be 18 or older.

Over the past 12 months we've hosted 25 events, hosted thousands of players, and built an amazing community of chess lovers from across Melbourne.
To celebrate our first birthday, we're heading back to Brick Lane Market for a special one year anniversary event.
Expect a great night of social chess, food and drinks, music and anniversary prize giveaways throughout the evening.
Whether you're attending for the first time or you haven’t missed an event - we'd love to celebrate with you. As always, everyone is welcome, from complete beginners through to experts. Don't worry about your rating, there'll be someone to challenge.
