Cardington to the Battle Stones and Sharpstones via Wilstone Hill

Details
The walk begins in the village of Cardington where the village hall car park is sited opposite to St James Church at SY6 7JZ. There is additional parking in the town itself along the church. It is a circular walk of approximately six + miles and follows mainly the Cardington walk. The walk is a steady uphill walk for 2 to 3 miles via the Wilderness then a short sharp steep section up towards Wilstone Hill and Hope Bowdler after Cyms Cottage.
After this it is pretty much downhill all the way so moderate walking in general. The route has tremendous views towards The Lawleys and Caer Caradoc plus Church Stretton, The Wrekin, the Long Mynd and Brown Clee. Dogs must be on a leash at all times as there are extensive numbers of animals in the fields especially lambs. This is the first outing of this walk for me and Pam. On a clear sunny day the views are simply stupendous. We have the Royal Oak a few hundred yards away from the village hall for an after-walk repast.
