Lets go down to Horseshoe Canyon Ranch for some rock climbing on Saturday and Sunday.
We'll meet Saturday morning at the ranch and climb throughout the day. We'll camp Saturday night, climb on Sunday, and then head home at our leisure. Be sure to bring all the essentials for climbing and camping. I will have a rope and climbing equipment to share. Climbing shoes, helmets, and harnesses are available to rent for $5 each per day.
There are also mountain bike trails at the ranch, so bring your bike if you're interested in taking a break from climbing to hit the trails. We may get a group ride together or hike the trails if there's interest. The restaurant at the ranch will be closed on Sunday, so plan accordingly.
If you're brand new to outdoor climbing, check out the Gym to Crag program to familiarize yourself with outdoor climbing. The outdoor climbing portion of the program finishes on Saturday evening at Horseshoe Canyon, so you can join the fun on Sunday and put your new skills to use. If you've never climbed before, I'd recommend spending some time at the local climbing gym before attempting outdoor sport climbing.
