The Masaka WordPress Meetup is calling all creators, developers, and designers for a high-stakes Full Site Editing (FSE) Challenge . If you’ve been hesitant to join a meetup because you wanted something more "hands-on," this is the event you have been waiting for.
On Saturday, February 28th, the power of WordPress will be put to the test in a live, 40-minute "Speed Build" battle. Whether you are a seasoned pro looking to showcase your workflow or a beginner eager to see how the experts handle a blank canvas, this session will be 100% focused on action.
At the start of the session, we will reveal a "Mystery Design Brief" —a professional 4-section landing page. Competitors will have exactly 30 minutes to replicate it using ONLY the native WordPress Site Editor and a Block Theme. No heavy page builders, no custom CSS—just pure, modern WordPress skill.

When you click "Attend/RSVP," you will be prompted to choose one of the following:
The Competitors: You will build live on your own setup (WordPress Studio, LocalWP, TasteWP, or hosting) and share your screen for the final showcase. We want to see how the pros and enthusiasts handle a blank canvas!The Moderators : You will help run the battle! Moderators will manage the countdown timer, drop design assets in the chat, and assist participants with technical flow.The Viewers: You will join to watch the "shortcuts" the pros use, learn FSE secrets, and vote for the winner at the end.

3:00 PM | The Virtual Lobby: Join early to test your setup and meet the community.3:15 PM | The Mystery Brief Reveal: We will drop the "Battle Kit" —containing the target mockup, branding hex codes, and images.3:20 PM | ⏱️ THE SPRINT! The clock starts. 40 minutes of focused building with live commentary.3:50 PM | Pencils Down: Editing ends. The timer hits zero!4:00 PM | The Live Showcase: Competitors will share their results. We’ll look at how they tackled the Header, Group Blocks, and Mobile Responsiveness.4:20 PM | Crowning the Champion: A live community poll will decide the winner!
Technical Requirements for Competitors
Your Own Environment: Have a fresh WordPress installation ready.Theme: We will be using the Twenty Twenty-Four block theme.Stable Connection: You must be able to share your screen via the call.The Rule: No extra page-builder plugins—this is an FSE-only challenge!
