CHESAPEAKE BEACH Year-Round Trail Walk with friends or on your own
Boardwalks views of the Chesapeake Bay
Start Point: On the Railroad Museum porch adjoining the Chesapeake Beach Resort 4165 Mears Ave., Chesapeake Beach, MD 20732 - We will be in the railroad cars behind the Museum Bldg.
Start walk by signing in between 9AM and 10:30 AM and Finish walk by 12 noon or at your own pace.
Drive Directions: From I-495/I-95 (DC) - Take exit 11, Rt 4 S. Just before Calvert County line, exit right to Rt 260. Proceed approx 8 miles to Chesapeake Beach. When Rt 260 intersects Rt 261, at light, turn RIGHT to next traffic light, turn LEFT to Mears. Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa is at the end of the street. From Baltimore I-695 - Take I-97/Rt 3/Rt 301 corridor S to Rt 4, near Upper Marlboro. Go S on Rt 4 and proceed as above.
FREE PARKING - AVAILABLE IN PARKING GARAGE – PLEASE OBEY ALL RESTRICTIONS.
Trail Options: 5-km and 10-km rated 2A - Part of the trail is in North Beach and goes by historic homes, antique stores, eateries, marshland and along a boardwalk. This portion of the walk would be rated 1A. The part in Chesapeake Beach has more hills, including one steep downhill section. WETLAND trail 5-km and 10-km with views of the Chesapeake Bay, wetlands and boardwalk. Your choice of which trail you chose.
Walk Fee for IVV credit or non-IVV is $4.00. Children 12 and under walk for free (IVV-credit included) courtesy of Freestate Happy Wanderers.
