What we’re about
If you live in or are visiting south-central Wisconsin and love to run out in nature, this is your group. Madison Trail Runners is open to anyone interested in running, from beginners to elite runners at all distances. Our group features a variety of group running options, including shorter, fun runs to more difficult training runs such as long runs, tempo runs, hill repeats, intervals, etc. This is a place to get involved in trail runs and races, leave race reports, volunteer for trail maintenance projects, attend running-related talks, social events, and, some day, hold our own trail race events.

See all- Tour de Dodge: Course PreviewEquestrian campground, Dodgeville, WI
The second annual Tour de Dodge is coming up on Saturday, April 20, at Governor Dodge State Park! With 50K, 27K, and 10K distances available [no cut-off for the 10K], there is something for everyone to enjoy.
The race directors at Driftless Trail Collective [Emma, Jessi, and Nick] are excited to welcome another group of runners to the amazing Driftless trails in Dodgeville.
Curious about signing up, but haven't had a chance to check out the trails? Want to try out the trails at Governor Dodge for the first time with a welcoming group of folks? This may be the run for you!
On Saturday morning, we'll meet starting at 8:00am in the Amphitheater lot [Google Maps location here]. We'll gather and have coffee, chat about trail running, and take off at 8:30am for a no-drop, all-paces run of the 10K loop [map here] in the Tour de Dodge race. We'll finish back where we started, in the Amphitheater lot. No cost for this experience other than you showing up ready for a fun morning of trails! :)
Please plan accordingly for the weather, and bring anything you expect to need for 6.2 miles – water or snacks alike. It's been warm lately and it's unlikely from this vantage point to see snow, but March 30th is still March, and if you're familiar with Wisconsin weather, you know things could turn around quickly. We can also plan carpools if you need help getting out to Governor Dodge, which is about an hour's drive west of downtown Madison. Add a comment below if you have spots to take people, or need a ride!
P.S. If you'd like to stick around for more running on the great trails at Governor Dodge, at least 1-2 of the DTC race directors will likely stay on for more running after the 10K loop! Let us know in the comments if you're looking for more than a 10K.
