Please join us for an evening campfire that will include a short hike (less than 1/2 mile), friends, fun, a few snacks, and maybe even some guitar/signing from our Arboretum co-sponsor Barry. Our co-host Shane himself has also agreed to sing a few songs a cappella.

We will meet at the first parking lot on the right from Wesleyan College Entrance 5 on Tucker Rd., then at 6pm start our short (under 1/2 mile) hike to the cabin and fire pit. Shane will not only sing, but also talk to us about how to start a campfire and general fire pit safety.

Since it is getting dark around our start time, in addition to the usual hydration and bug spray, we are suggesting to please bring a headlamp\flashlight, small\light chair, and any snacks you may want to share.

While there is no required cost for this event, any donations to the Arboretum are welcome and can be dropped in the trailhead donation box at the start or end of the hike. See you all out there!

Dauset trails hike and syrup festival!

We're going to be doing a hike on part of the Jackson trail system starting at dauset trails the same day that they have their annual syrup festival! The hike will be about 5 miles and then we'll end up at the festival ground where they will have different markets, food trucks, fresh syrup, a presentation of donkeys grinding up sugar that they grow on property and more! This is a free festival hosted by dauset trails (which is an animal rescue) annually. They've got a zoo like portion that you can see year round of rescued animals that is free to see!

Bring any water, big spray ECT that you may need on the hike.

We will meet at the Stone Building near the water well and restrooms. This is the north parking lot. Follow the pin drop in the map and it will take you to where we are . The hike will be 5. The parking fee is $5. ( State Park passes in their office -- come earlier if you plan to get one.)

Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, hat, walking poles, bug spray, etc.
Dogs on 6' leash ok.

Don't forget to take yourself off the RSVP if your plans change!
