What we’re about
Hey! Please allow me to introduce myself; I’m Michael Handorf and I’m the co-organizer of the LBABGG. I just recently moved to the coast full-time and wanted to begin coordinating board game nights.
I don’t know the local haunts (restaurants, breweries, etc) that are receptive to gamers showing up, buying some food and drink, and pushing pieces of plastic around a board for a couple hours.
Looking for gamers, locations, and suggestions! I would be happy to host on a semi regular basis, but our dining room table can’t really support a larger game like Scythe or Castles of Mad King Ludwig.
Hoping to build a group of gamers who want to play a variety of games! My personal favorites are longer, ‘heavier’ games like Scythe, Cthulhu Wars or Root, but I’m always up for some beer and a cooperative game like Zombicide: Black Plague.
A regular Gaslands group would be cool as well.
My intention is that this will be an inclusive group of mature gamers, and we will make new attendees feel welcome. I know that it's awkward to show up by yourself at a game night, so I’d encourage people to sign up a friend, partner, or spouse as a guest.
Note: This group is a ‘sister’ group to both the Everett Card & Tabletop Gaming Group and the Shoreline Tabletop Gaming Group, both in Western Washington.
You’ll notice Lee is the ‘Organizer’, but that’s an administrative quirk of Meetup. For all intents and purposes, I’ll be the one facilitating this coastal group.
