Reminiscence of Bluebell 20 Km Hike

Please read the following before you RSVP,
MEETING POINTS
Option 1 ( For Groupsave Tickets )
9:55AM Euston Rail Station's Ticket Office ( Not underground)
please take the 10:24 Birmingham New Street train to Tring.
Ticket - Off peak day Return 1/3 off £14.80 with GroupSave or Network rail card. ( ticket price may be changed and please bring cash ) .

OR

Option 2 ( For those who drive )
11:05AM Tring Station
The organiser will be driving and waiting from there.
No waiting for late comers please.

HIKE START: Tring Station 11:05 AM

HIKE FINISH: Tring Station ( ETA 5:45 PM )

LENGTH & GRADE : 18 to 21 km moderate and mainly unpaved.

PACE: 4 to 5 km per hour with leisurely pace.

BREAK : appx 45 mins at National Trust Ashridge and bring own pack lunch, sufficient water and 15 mins at Ivinghoe Beacon.

COST: the hike is Free and cash contributions are welcome to cover Meetup fees and running costs.

Bluebells are English iconic wildflowers and the UK's woodlands are home to almost 50% of the world's population of the bluebell. The Ashridge estate( National Trust ) shows one of the best bluebell displays in Chiltern ares. The presence of bluebells is a sign that a woodland is ancient and has been present in the landscape for at least 400 years.
The route will be a circular with woodlands and open terrain and there are some minor hills to climb; Ivinghoe Beacon offers breathtaking panoramic view.
Special Note:

  • The bluebell is protected in the uk under the wildlife and countryside Act 1981 and try not to trample over the woodland flowers.

RECOMMENDATION: please wear comfortable hiking shoes and dress appropriately to current weather update and bring a backpack, pack lunch, sufficient water and cash for GroupSave train ticket.
GROUP RULES
_ All attendance must be RSVP, members with repeated No Show or late cancellation will be removed from the group. Guests or members on waiting list are not allowed unless approved by the event host.
_ Please treat other members of group with respect & courtesy, understand the boundaries and consider cultural sensitivity.
_ Please refrain from criticisms, personal attacks, harassments, loud voices and smoking including vape during the events.
_ The organiser has the right to prioritise members who are puntual, regular and show interest or appreciation.
IMPORTANCE
Some of the events require a participant to be able to walk 4 to 5 Km per hour and in some cases tough terrain too, please join only if your are medically fit enough. A cancellation may occur in case of heavy rain or snow, transport's information might be changed and please always check any updates and turn on notifications. Please follow and respect the countryside code;
• Leave gates and property as you find them.
• Slow down or stop for horses, walkers and farm animals and give them plenty of room.
• Make no unnecessary noise; do not disturb the residents or frighten farm animals & wildlife and maintain “ Peace & Quiet “ nature of countryside.
• Keep away from machinery and farm animals.
• Please do not feed livestock, horses or wild animals.
• Make sure you keep to the footpaths to help protect crops and wildlife.
