Day trip by coach - a Roman Villa & Two Villages in Berkshire! (only £26 each)

Details
Come along on Saturday 17th May for a day trip to the county of Berkshire to visit a Roman Villa and two villages.
About the day
Berkshire is a royal county due to the location of Windsor Castle. It got its name back in the 9th century from 'Bearroc' in old English, which means 'a wood of box trees'. It has been the scene of notable battles in the 10th century and later in the English Civil War in the 17th century.
We will be visiting:
Littlecote Roman Villa
Littlecote Roman Villa is an extensive and exceptional villa discovered in the 18th century. The villa was initially built in about 60AD near the site of a Roman guard post covering a crossing of the River Kennet. It was rebuilt and enlarged over the next two centuries, in its heyday it boasted 60 rooms, two thermal baths and a number of mosaic floors and hypocausts. Alot of the mosaic floors are still visable today.
Wargrave
The pretty village of Wargrave (derived from 'Weir-Grove') is primarily on the River Thames but also along the confluence of the River Loddon. It has an historic centre, originating in the Tudor period with many listed buildings and two marinas.
Cookham
The village of Cookham sits on the River Thames with a history that goes back thousands of years. It has a 12th century church and plenty of 17th & 18th century buildings. It was the home of the famous British painter Sir Stanley Spencer, who called Cookham "a village in heaven".
