Day trip by train - Lesnes Abbey Remains & Bluebells!

Details
Come along on Saturday 10th May for a visit to the remains of Lesnes abbey and to see its stunning bluebells!
About Lesnes Abbey
Lesnes Abbey, founded in 1178, is a former abbey in south east London. It was desolved in the 1530's under Henry VIII's desolution of the monasteries and alot of the abbey was either demolished or the stone taken to be used in other buildings. It is surrounded by a medieval wood and gives its name to the local area today (Abbey Wood).
This time of year, the bluebells will be in bloom within the wood, so a great time to go.
The woods are also a Site of Special Scientific Interest containing fossils from the Eocene Epoch (54.5 million years ago), which we can look for.
I will tell you more about the abbey when we arrive. We will walk about 2 miles around the site.
Getting there
Abbey Wood Station is on the Elizabeth Line in Zone 4.
