The Lost World of the Royal Docks

Details
Meet Pret a Manger London City Airport, London E16 2PX at 10.45 for tea or 11.15 here too for the start of the walk.
My number is 07815009191 just in case.
On this walk we'll see the massive Royal Docks that once dealt with liners and goods from all over the empire and even Rudyard Kipling. They're so big you can't see the end and now the City Airport is right in the middle of them.
We'll see one of the few remaining factories in the area, Tate and Lyle and find out why they came here. Did you know it started as two companies?
There's the green dock built on the site once said to be the most polluted in the country. A close up view of the Thames barrier, the wonderful dereliction of the old flour factory and the Silvertown explosion, so big they heard it in Sandringham and Portsmouth.
All this and the church you can see in the picture built with donations from Times readers anxious that the poor attend church regularly. " We need bread not bricks" the locals protested.
You can pay £12 cash on the day or bank transfer to sort code 090128 acct 75471878.
