HASTINGS Jack in the Green Festival 2025 (PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION IN FULL!)

Hello all!

The largest event of its kind in the UK, the annual Jack in the Green festival takes place in Hastings around May Day (the 1st Bank Holiday in May).

The festival runs over 5 days with the highlight being the release of the Jack, a man completely dressed in leaves, representing the start of summer.

The Jack is released around 9:45am and "slain" around 3:30pm.

You are welcome to join us on Monday. Alternatively, you might decide to stay over on the Sunday evening (the 4th) so you don't have to travel so early on Monday morning. If you decide to stay over, please arrange you own accommodation - the sooner the better as the cheaper options will go quickly. (This is what I will be doing.)

I am posting this meetup on 20th November 2024, more than half a year away. As the date gets nearer, I will give more specific details on meet up locations and so on.
