Bank Holiday: WWII Galleries + VE Day 80: Choir Performance @ IWM + Social!!!

Let's celebrate Victory in Europe with a visit to the Imperial War Museum!

On this Bank Holiday, we will start by visiting their permanent WWII Second World War Galleries:
IWM London’s Second World War Galleries display over 1,500 collection items that bring to life a war which affected millions of people from around the world, from London to Russia, to New Zealand, to China and the Philippines.
It is a war with which everyone will have a personal connection.
Dedicated to conserving, displaying and interpreting stories of the most devastating conflict in human history, IWM London is the first museum in the world to house Second World War Galleries and The Holocaust Galleries under the same roof. These galleries will change the way we understand the past for generations to come.
Spanning two floors, these vast new, award-winning galleries bring together the stories of real people from diverse communities to examine the complex relationship between the Holocaust and the course and consequences of the Second World War.

We'll then hear some familiar songs with their VE day 80: Choir Performance.
They say: Mark 80 years since the end of the Second World War in Europe. Visit IWM London and hear a live performance of songs from the 1940s to the present day, sung by members of local London choirs.
As we commemorate the eightieth anniversary of VE Day, this performance organised in collaboration with Sweet Track Productions, will evoke the unique blend of relief, celebration, sadness and community felt across the country 80 years ago, as the Second World War in Europe came to an end.

As usual, afterwards, we'll have a social in their Café or a local pub.
