What we’re about

Lisbon Community Connections Group serves people who have a positive pro-community mindset.

Our tag line is "we welcome all who welcome all"

Our gatherings are inclusive and for people of all backgrounds and ages.

Digital Nomads
Newcomers to Lisbon
Entrepreneurs
Long and short term residents, whether Portuguese or foreign
Retired people and those still working

What is different about these meetings ?
They are hosted and designed to be "first timer friendly", with integration activities and games so that people who don't know anyone don't feel that they are entering a room where everyone knows each other.

Who should join: People who are new in Lisbon who want to get integrated with others in the city, and those who already live here and want to welcome them.

What members can expect out of our events : There are three parts of our meetups.
1 structured integration games, designed to make things easy for participants who don't know other people to make new connections,
2 Community announcements where those have a community project are able to tell other people in the room about it, and
3. informal socialising

Community: The group will foster relationships between those who attend because thanks to the way it is organised, it will be easy to meet a large number of people rapidly , and spend time with those who they find most interesting.

We usually host gatherings on the last Tuesday of every month, or more frequently if there is demand.

We need volunteers to help us develop the project.

If you want to know more or to be part of this initiative (we are recruiting new volunteer team members), please join and reach out to us. From simple things like being early to welcome people, through to PR and graphic design and a website. If that sounds like you and apply to join the team here https://forms.gle/EeLboZcYBrLesVt26

When you sign up to our events we add you to our mailing list https://lisboncommunityevents.substack.com so we can tell you about more free events run by volunteers . If you don't want us to do that don't give us your email. iI you change your mind you can leave the Substack group at any time.

Besides this event, a great way to integrate into the Lisbon community is via group activities and international gatherings.

We are inspired by book "The Art of Gathering: How We Meet and Why It Matters by Priya Parker and her TED talk.
