The word "welcome" may indeed feel somewhat paradoxical, given that joining this group signifies the loss of your significant other, your other half. Yet, it's a place where we come together to navigate the unique challenges that accompany such a loss.
Even before the availability of marriage, the LGBT community has unique problems dealing with the loss of a partner/spouse. Most support groups are directed to the straight community. Many people still do not appreciate that we suffer and have many of the same problems they do with a loss.
Our group encompasses both in-person and Zoom meetings, providing a variety of ways to connect. I sincerely hope that in the near future, you'll find the opportunity to join one of our meetings. These gatherings offer a supportive space to openly discuss the challenges you're facing and to share your experiences with others who understand what you're going through. You're not alone on this journey, and we're here to support you every step of the way.
