About us
A group of people who think a little too hard about identity, mental health, existence, and what it means to live a good life — and want to do that thinking out loud, together. If small talk drains you and deep conversation energizes you, you’re in the right place.
We skip the “so what do you do?” and get straight to the stuff that actually matters.
Real sessions we’ve had: the version of yourself that only shows up at 2am. Who you were before you needed them. What The Giving Tree actually teaches about self-sacrifice. Realizing your normal was never everyone’s normal. Running on borrowed energy until there’s none left. The subject everyone talks around instead of through. The year you don’t talk about.
If you’ve ever paused a podcast to argue with it, if you’ve ever felt like the real conversation started after the official one ended, if you ask why more than is probably socially acceptable — you’ll fit right in.
What to expect
• A new topic each meetup, driven by what’s actually happening in our lives and the world
• No experts, no lectures — just curious people in a room, with someone keeping the conversation on track
• For bigger turnouts, we split into smaller groups so nobody’s performing for a crowd
• Sharing is always optional. Plenty of people come the first time and just listen. That counts.
• Disagreement is welcome. Nobody has all the answers, and that’s the point.
• Coffee meetups — some of the best thinking happens over a cup, mid-day, with nowhere else to be
• Meals together — where the table stays set long after the food is gone and the conversation is the main course
Hampton Roads runs deep. This is a space to dig into it — over coffee, around a table, or wherever the conversation takes us.
