Feedback loops permeate almost every aspect of our lives, and we use them all the time, whether we realise it or not. But how can we harness feedback loops more consciously to improve and accelerate our development process? In this talk, I’ll explore effective feedback loops engineers can use to reduce wasted effort ­and stress, from tight ones like IDE hints and TDD, to the most all-encompassing, such as A/B testing and user interviews—all aimed at ensuring they’re building just enough of the right thing to deliver value for their business and their users.

20:00 – From Nouns to Verbs: Event Sourcing for the Rest of Us - Michael Connelly
Event sourcing is something we, as developers, use daily, yet it still remains underutilised in application development. Often seen as complex, intimidating and tied to DDD, its benefits can be easily missed - even in its most simple form. The introduction of the Verbs package has made the pattern more approachable and a lot more "Laravelly", but if it wasnt implemented from the start, is it too late? This talk breaks down what event sourcing is in simple terms, when it's a good option and how to integrate it into new and existing Laravel applications.
