In partnership with Being You Leeds - JULY 2026 IS BEING HOSTED AT SWARTHMORE CENTRE

Cultural Kitchen is a monthly community meal bringing people together through traditional, home‑cooked food, shared by members of our community.

These evenings are rooted in connection, wellbeing and belonging.

Food is prepared by our members, drawing on their cultural traditions, and shared in a relaxed, welcoming space where people can spend time together, meet new faces and enjoy a meal made with care.

Please confirm if you require a vegetarian dish.

As part of the next chapter of Cultural Kitchen, we’re opening up bookings and inviting people from Leeds’ local queer, ethnically diverse communities to join us around the table. While the heart of the event remains community‑led, we’re excited to welcome new people to share the space and enjoy the food together.

These events are free to attend, thanks to the partnership with Being You Leeds, however donations are accepted by the Angels of Freedom CIC to support our range of community activities.

What to expect

• A shared evening meal, freshly prepared by members of our community, typically served around 7pm
• Traditional cultural dishes (menu varies each month)
• A relaxed, social environment focused on wellbeing and connection
• A safe, respectful and inclusive space

Important food information – please read:

Cultural Kitchen is a community‑led food‑sharing event, not a commercial catering service.

• We are unable to cater for food allergies, intolerances, or special dietary requirements.
• Food is prepared by different community members each month, often using shared kitchen facilities.
• Ingredients, preparation methods and cross‑contamination cannot be guaranteed.

If you have a food allergy, intolerance, or dietary requirement, we kindly ask that you do not attend expecting to eat the food provided. You are welcome to come along for the social aspect only, but you do so at your own discretion.

Hot food will be served on the evening. Please take care when handling hot plates and food, and let a volunteer know if you need any assistance.

Join us for a relaxed and welcoming summer evening at the beautiful Lime Tree Farm in Nidderdale — a chance to spend time with others in the LGBTQ+ community in a calm, nature-filled setting.
Whether you’re coming on your own or with friends, this is a space to feel at ease, meet new people, and enjoy being together — without pressure or expectation.

✨ Thanks to venue sponsorship, this event is completely free to attend — and free travel is included too - we are collecting a £3 booking fee as a contribution towards drinks & snacks for the travel ✨

This isn’t a structured event. You’re free to move at your own pace, whether that’s chatting with new people, sticking with familiar faces, or enjoying some quiet time nearby.

Ready to dip your toes into the queer bar scene; at your own pace and with friendly faces? The Angels LGBTQ+ Bar Scene Social is a relaxed, welcoming get‑together designed for anyone keen to meet new people in our community, especially those who are new to LGBTQ+ bars wanting a supportive first experience.

We gather in the main entrance seated area at the venue, and you'll be able to spot the Angels banner in the area. We have the area reserved for this social, so feel free to pull up a seat and get chatting to anyone in the area.

There are lots of regular attendees to help you feel welcome, you just need to break the ice by saying hello! There's also various card games available across the tables, so for those who prefer to participate in an activity while starting conversations with new people.

Who it’s for:

• LGBTQ+ folks of all genders, sexualities, identities, and backgrounds.
• People who are curious about the bar scene but prefer gentle, supported social settings.
• Allies are welcome when attending respectfully and in support of the whole community.

• No pressure to drink: Non‑alcoholic options and regular breaks are encouraged so come as you are.
