North Hollywood/Valley Village Park: Pack Walk

REQUIREMENTS:
➊ Complete and submit a Member Form and Release of Liability **before** you come to your first class or packwalk.
➋ While we do not require you bring these documents, make sure your dog is current on the following:
Bordetella vaccinations/titer and rabies vaccination for dogs 4 months and older OR Bordetella vaccination for 4 months and younger; and

• Local animal care and control agency licensing requirements.

Also note that by signing our Release of Liability, you are confirming that you are up-to-date on these requirements.

RULES:
First rule of our pack walks is to BE SAFE so that everyone has fun! All participants must comply to ALL guidelines below or will be asked to leave the event.

1. Participants limited to 20 people. RSVP is required to hold a spot. As soon as you know you cannot attend, cancel your reservation. We understand last-minute changes take place; however, if you don't show up more than two times you will be placed on the wait list for future events.
2. If you feel even slightly ill (including a headache, sniffles, minor fever or even an allergy), do not attend this event. Stay home for your health and safety of others. Remember to cancel your reservation.
3. Maintain a 6 foot distance from other participants not in your household.
4. Face mask/shield is optional. Please maintain a 6' distance from anyone choosing to wear a mask.

MEETING LOCATION: We’re meeting at Valley Village park to the left/north of the playground. Westpark Dr and Hesby St.

PARKING: Street parking. Parking on Westpark Drive
north of Hesby St is best because it’s furthest away from where people let their dogs off leash.

WHAT TO BRING: Water for you and your dog. We will do some mental exercises and there will be lots of distractions and stimuli, so bring Iots of high value treats for your pup, too.

PACK WALK DISTANCE: About 1.5 - 2 miles round trip.

TRAIL: Mix of paved, dirt path and grass.

DIFFICULTY: Easy

DISTRACTION LEVEL: Now that it is lighter later there's the usual- other park visitors, other dogs, birds, squirrels, an “unofficial off-leash” dog section, etc.

LARPBO PACK WALK GUIDELINES:
#1 All dogs must be on a secure collar and leash. Dogs using e-collars must also be on a leash. Prong collars should be backed up with a carabiner. Short leashes are recommended (less than 6 feet). Retractable leashes and harnesses are not allowed as they provide little control.
#2 PLEASE NO NOSE TO NOSE CONTACT (dog to dog that is). Always maintain a six-foot distance between dogs. There should be no dog-on-dog interaction.
#3 Please bring doggie poo bags.
#4 Make sure you bring water for you and your dog.
#5 One dog per handler. No exceptions!
#6 Share the road. Move to the right to let others pass.

• All breeds welcome.
• There will be foot traffic, bikes, and several others dogs. If your dog tends to be reactive to any of these distractions, please be EXTRA mindful and prepared.

RELEASE AND WAIVER:
In consideration of being allowed to participate in LARPBO events posted on the LARPBO Community Meetup group, you agree that:

• You are an adult over the age of 18.
• You knowingly and freely assume all risks, both known and unknown, which may arise in connection with your participation in any events, including, but not limited to, injury, illness, property damage including injury to you or your dog, contact with other dogs or spectators at the event, injuries sustained by and through other dogs or participants at the event and assume full responsibility for your participation in the event.
• If you feel that you or your dog are unable to safely and comfortably complete the event, you agree to leave.
• You hereby release, indemnify, and hold harmless LARPBO Community Meetup group, LARPBO – Los Angeles Responsible Pit Bull Owners, Inc. and all of their respective officers, organizers, and volunteers.
• You understand that at this event or related activities, you may be photographed. You agree to allow your photo, video, or film likeness to be used for any legitimate purpose by the event organizers.
