Hello writers! We are here to provide a space for community and intentional writing. We are an all-skills level group spanning genres such as academic research, poetry, novels, and even some journaling. No matter what you’re writing, revising or researching we’d love to have you join us.
We are donation based, and all events are hosted at local coffee shops in and around the greater Lansing area. Please check out event descriptions for our location, COVID precautions, and event details.

Event Description:
This event will be an opportunity to get feedback from fellow writers. Whether your project is still an early draft or fully edited, you are welcome to attend. If you are not in a place for receiving feedback, you are still welcome! You may treat this time as you would a Free Write event, just please be aware that there may be some distractions.
How it works: This event is in person, but sharing work will take place on Google Drive. You will add a premade worksheet to the first page of your work that will allow you to communicate to your readers the level of critique you would like to receive as well as what you are most interested in receiving comments about. This worksheet will be used by readers to cater their feedback to what you are seeking.
A link will be sent to all people who have RSVP'd to this event on Thursday, May 1st for the group's Google Drive and further instructions on how to submit. If you would like the opportunity to read before the event on Saturday, please feel free to do so.
The event on Saturday will include time to read work shared, make notes, and time at the end to discuss one another's work. The duration of this event is often dependent upon how many attendees we have.
What you will need: Access to and a working knowledge of Google Drive. Your piece can be any genre or style but should be a length that can be reasonably read in 10-15 minutes.

This event will be held at Taste Coffee Co on Okemos rd between the 96 exit and Sandhill dr. Parking is free in the adjacent parking lot.

Event description:
This event is to set aside a couple of hours dedicated to getting some writing done. We do quick introductions for newcomers before we settle into a study hall style event. The only required materials are your preferred writing method and yourself. There are no limitations to what you work on, this is your time!
Event location:
This event will be hosted at Hooked. Street parking is available on Dori Ln next to their building. This is a free event and you are not required to make a purchase to attend, however, if you're in need the menu, the link is below.
**Please keep in mind that construction along Michigan Ave will have resumed by the time of this event.

- Writing Prompt Round RobinCoffee Barrel, Holt, MI
Event Description:
This will be a guided round robin style writing session for all those who attend. Whether you are shaking off some cobwebs or just want to try something new, I hope you can join us.
How it works: a prompt will be provided to the group and we will write for a specified amount of time before a new prompt will be given. Each round this month will be 10 minutes long. You can write in any style preferred. A total of six rounds will take place to give us an hour of writing total. Additional time in our two hours can be spent discussing, sharing, or providing feedback.
What you will need: your preferred method of writing and yourself.
Event location:
This event will be held at the Coffee Barrel in Holt. They are located on the corner of Cedar St. and Aurelius Rd. Parking is available in the lot they share with Rite Aid. This location does close at 3:00pm. Please plan for us to wrap up prior to close.
