We are "Languages in London"
As of April 2025 we're very proud to be the Highest Rated international Languages events group in London.🏆💙

We’re a diverse community, from across the world and a variety of backgrounds, with one thing in common - We♥️Languages
We announced our arrival, with an amazing launch party on Friday 22nd September 2023 🍾🥂 and now have the largest number of countries and languages represented in our weekly language exchange and social events in London.
Since we started, we've been running our language exchange and social events, weekly or twice weekly...so that's already over 110 events and counting!
Many of us are multilingual and collectively we're fluent in English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese (incl Brazilian), German, Russian, Japanese, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), Korean, Hindi, Arabic, Polish, Turkish, Ukrainian, Greek, Romanian, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Hebrew, Farsi, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Catalan, Urdu, Bangla, Welsh, Gaelic, Estonian, Thai, Vietnamese, Latvian, Lithuanian, Slovakian, Punjabi, Tamil, Telegu, Kannada, Yoruba, Creole (Mauritius and La Reunion), Akrikaans, Kurdish, Turkmen, Kazakh, Tagalog, Nepali, Filipino, Mongolian, Icelandic, Sinhala, Malagasy, Tok Pisin and many more. Why join Languages in London?
Our language exchange events are open to Everyone...
- All languages and all levels are welcome. Relax! We have no minimum language fluency requirements. If you only want to speak English, that's fine.
- You're special 💙 On arrival, we give every attendee their own personalised and sustainable languages badge. It's your passport to starting a conversation with everyone, within seconds 😀
- All our language exchange events are hosted, from start to finish. We'll be there to Welcome you and help you with introductions or any questions you have during the event.
- No secret venues. Just check our events schedule on MeetUp and make sure you confirm your place, for the event you want to attend. We recommend you always confirm your place ASAP, as sometimes spaces are limited.
- Guests are welcome, but you need to let us know in advance, how many guests you're bringing.
- We care about your safety and well being and don't tolerate harassment or prejudice of any kind, at any time.
- You pay just £2 to attend an event to help us cover Meetup organiser fees.
At each language exchange, collect your personalised and sustainable languages badge as soon as you arrive. Wear your badge during the event so that every time you buy your drinks and food, the venues know that you're part of our community and supporting them too. Now you're ready to start having fun... lots of fun 😀
What we ask of you...
- We host our language exchanges in specially selected bars and pubs,. We ask all attendees to buy at least one drink or some food, as this supports our superb venues, who give us our dedicated space every week.
- Be respectful and polite to everyone.
- Look after your belongings.
- If you're no longer able to attend an event you should update your RSVP asap and it only takes a few seconds. No-shows are removed from our group.
- Have fun...lots of fun! 😄

What else?
London is the most cosmoplitan and international city in the world. The people who live, work, study and travel to and through London speak hundreds of languages, from around the world.
Our community of both locals and internationals enjoy meeting like minded people on a regular basis, to make new friends, share experiences and of course practice and improve their language skills.

We’ll introduce ourselves and then help you join the event, with a little help of your own personalised languages badge.
Your badge will help you to start up a conversation and exchange with other community members, within seconds!
Please remember to return your badge before you leave the event. This helps us keep the event sustainable and our event costs down. ♻️🌳🌏

Nothing boosts your confidence and spoken fluency (or is more fun!) than practicing with others...particularly native language speakers. Our events are a really fun and easy way to learn about the world around us and each other's cultures, history and so much more.
You’ll love our community and the venues we use. We’re confident, you’ll be back for more!
As well as Languages, we 💚 our planet too. We sanitise (anti bacterial / anti viral cleaners), re-use and recycle all badges and lanyards that are used at our events. Like you, we think sustainability and hygiene is important 🌳🌎

Do you know of a really nice pub or bar that would like to host us regularly? Nominate them or ask them to get in touch. If your nominated venue is chosen as a regular venue, well give you a thank you gift after we've held our 5th event there!
