Weekend Itinerary:
Day 1: Scafell Pike
We start with a challenging ascent up Scafell Pike, England’s highest peak. This rewarding hike offers sweeping views of the Lake District and, on a clear day, as far as Scotland, Ireland, and Wales. The trail is steep in parts, with rocky terrain that adds an adventurous edge to the climb.
Day 2: Old Man of Coniston
Day two brings us to the Old Man of Coniston, a popular hike with a rich mining history. The route passes by remnants of slate quarries and old mines, adding character to the stunning views over Coniston Water and the surrounding fells.
Day 3: Sizergh castle
On the final day, we’ll enjoy a leisurely hike exploring the surroundings of Sizergh Castle and the beautiful Brigsteer Woods. This picturesque route combines stunning views of the historic castle with the peaceful charm of ancient woodlands and meadows. It’s a relaxing way to connect with nature and soak in the rich cultural heritage of the Lake District, rounding off our adventure with a perfect blend of history and tranquillity.
