Join us in a safe, structured place to share a bit about your experience with autism, or just listen to how others have navigated autism.
This event aims to set a space for us to talk about our experiences on the spectrum, there will be 2 topics which we will all have the opportunity to share about. This is a timed share event and to give everyone the chance to express without competition we reframe from interruptions and cross talk while others are sharing.
We will take a 10 minute break after the second topic.
There is no obligation to share and you are welcome to just listen. When the formal part of the event is over we will chat openly, ask questions, and maybe play a game or two to lighten to mood.
There is free parking on surrounding streets, such as Merton St. Tuan St. Hubert St. and also at the recreation center.

80 Tech, Social Media, and AI
The way we communicate has changed dramatically over the past decade, tech has created a different world. It can be a frustration for us on the spectrum that things change so constantly, it can be overwhelming, your sense of closure is fleeting, you may feel as left behind. Social media can offer connection and entertainment but can also be addictive and toxic. AI will advance things in ways that will help or hinder our sense of social connection and anxiety?
What do you think of the constant changes of our times?
What is your relationship to social media?
Are you grateful for modern technology?
Do you have anxiety about the impact of technology?
Do you think chatting with AI is healthy?
Has tech helped or hurt you socially?
51 Burnout
Autistic burn out comes when we are mentally and emotionally stretched too hard, and for too long. Burn out is not nice and may mean unemployment, depression, loss of hope and confidence, and complete exhaustion. Some of us fend of burn out for a long time, some may need time of to recuperate, and some may not fully recover their sense of confidence or liberty. Self-care and moderation are very important in fending off burn out, we may not be able to control what life throws our way, but we can do our best to manage it.
Have you felt close to burn out, or have you burnt out?
Are you able to moderate effectively when you have a lot going on?
Has stress damaged you?
Do you feel confident that you won’t burn out?
Is there too much on your plate right now?
Hope to see you there 🙂
Thanks
Chris
