A MODERATE CROSS COUNTRY FIGURE 8 HIKE THROUGH THE DEVILS GARDEN

Details

Hello Hikers.... As promised, we are doing a second hike at Devils Garden since the first one was on Easter Sunday which kept hikers from attending. This hike will be similar from the previous one with one more secret surprise. This hike is also open to hikers which participated previously on Easter Sunday.
Devil's Garden has its own little world. It has a uniqueness that is totally different from the rest of Oregon. It is a place of solitude and peace. It has rock formations that resemble a moonscape. It is for sure a different hike from all of the other hikes that I have done. On this hike we will visit the rock submarine, the picture rock window and the high point.
Devil's Garden is located near Sprague River, Oregon in Klamath County. It is a 30-mile 38- min drive from Klamath Falls.

This is an ADVANCED BEGINNER hike with some INTERMEDIATE sections, and it is trail less. It is slow hiking with lots of jaw dropping stops. We will be stopping for pictures. The chosen path we are going on has some uphill and downhill sections. I feel it is a safe hike, but hikers will need to be very cautious from step to step since there are some sections that have loose rocks. Plan on having lunch on a picture-perfect knoll that has a 360 deg panoramic views. AGAIN, no beginner hikers on this hike. Do expect a 3 mile figure 8 loop hike lasting 3 hours and a 20 min lunch break.

LOGISTICS: We will meet at KCC at 9 Am for our 30-mile drive to the Devils Garden. You can also follow these directions and meet us there or join the car, Caravan. From KCC s south parking are area turn left on Rt 140, follow this highway through Olene gap for 16.5 miles to the Yonna Valley Corner Store. Turn left on Bliss Road for 1.5 miles to a Y in the road. Keep right and follow the sign towards Sprague River. At 28.7 miles from Klamath Falls, you will see a sign that says OC&E switchback Trail Head. Turn left and find a parking place. There is rest rooms, viewpoints and old train information. HOWEVER, this is NOT our trail head. After everyone arrives, I will lead you to our trailhead a short 1.1-mile drive on good gravel forest road 22.

WEATHER: I will be giving you a full weather report prior to the hike.

BRING: Sturdy hiking boots, long pants, Warm wind breaker, gloves, HIKING POLES, water, lunch, hat, maybe a pad to sit on.

DOGS are welcome ok on this hike.
