Anyone can reap the benefits of getting more movement into their day. but sometimes it is hard to get started or to stick with it. To help you get going and keep you going, the Kidney Foundation is piloting “in person” Walking to Wellness Groups in communities in BC and the Yukon. Whether you are starting with little movement, limited mobility, or already moving quite a lot you can benefit from Walking to Wellness.
This program is an incremental walking program that uses walking intervals and exercises to improve strength, balance and flexibility. The program is pressure free and allows you to go at your own pace.
The program is Free to anyone interested in participating and is operated by the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
This session is free to attend and runs every Saturday morning at the Bear Creek Park Community Walking Track in Surrey
We will meet at the Track. Look for the volunteers in the Kidney Foundation Lanyards.
Bring your runners, wear what you are comfortable walking in and dress for the weather. The session starts with a warm up activity that is adaptable to anyone's ability and then we will be doing walking intervals that can fit the pace you are comfortable at.
