The Centre is located in East Vancouver (Commercial and 18th) and offers a complete range of meditation courses and retreats for all levels of interest: weekly drop-in classes, day workshops, short and long retreats and in-depth study programs. There are also numerous branch locations around the Metro Vancouver area offering weekly introductory classes.
Kadampa Buddhism is a special tradition of Mahayana Buddhism founded by Atisha (982-1054 CE) an Indian Buddhist Master largely responsible for the reintroduction of Buddhism in Tibet in the 11th Century. Through the kindness of later teachers such as Je Tsongkhapa and our Founder, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, this lineage of Buddhist teachings is now easily accessible and applicable for modern times. Kadampa Meditation Centre offers modern-day people an opportunity to develop inner peace by using Buddha's timeless advice.
Our classes tend to start right at the announced time so try to arrive 5 to 10 minutes early. If you are running late do not worry - you can still come and slip in the back without disturbing people. Please feel welcome.
