Welcome to the Istanbul Sci-Fi & Fantasy Literature Circle, a haven for those who find solace and thrill in the realms of science fiction and fantasy literature! Whether you're a long-time fan or new to the genre, our group offers a welcoming space to explore and discuss the incredible universes that sci-fi and fantasy books present.
What We Do:
We gather in-person once a month in a cozy café or a comfortable public space in Istanbul to dive into discussions about a pre-selected sci-fi or fantasy book. Our aim is to cover a diverse range of authors and themes, focusing on works that are engaging yet manageable to read within a month, ideally less than 300 pages.
Discussion Topics:
Our discussions aren't limited to the book of the month. We also love to chat about related topics like sci-fi and fantasy movies, TV series, comics, podcasts, and everything in between. From classics like Isaac Asimov and J.R.R. Tolkien to contemporary gems, our conversations are as boundless as the genres we adore.
Club Structure:
Every meeting, members are encouraged to bring their perspectives, insights, and any related media that can enrich our discussions. Don't worry if you haven't finished the book; your presence and enthusiasm for the genre are what matter most. We aim for an open, inclusive, and engaging environment where every voice is heard and valued.
