If you have a curiosity about improv or are a full blown fan, this meetup will share ways to watch, participate and make friends being a part of this revolutionary art form. You'll find quick wit, bold characters, and the unexpected comedic chaos you can only get when nothing is scripted at Improv Boulder's newest monthly improv comedy show, Laugh-ayette Improv. The region's funniest improvisers will make up an entire show on the spot — based on YOUR suggestions — in one of the most atmospheric and immersive venues hosting comedy in Boulder County.

Improv 201 Class - Character - with Ian Gibbs - Mondays Sept 14th
Unity of Boulder, 2855 Folsom St, Boulder, CO, USBuilding on our 101 curriculum (or any other improv group's beginner level class), you will learn how to create interesting characters, polish your 2-person scene work, grasp the fundamentals of pattern building, receive an introduction to UCB-style "game," and perform believable object work. Taught by long-time improviser and level 101 instructor, Ian Gibbs, this promises to be a fun learning experience!
The class meets on Mondays from 6:30 to 9:00 pm, for 7 weeks starting Monday, September 14th through October 26th, 2026, with a subsequent showcase performance date TBD. The classes will be held at Unity of Boulder in Boulder (downstairs community room).

Ian Gibbs has been performing and teaching Improv Comedy for the last 25 years. He did a 2 year theater program at Circle in the Square in NYC and has trained with Second City NY, The Upright Citizens Brigade and the Groundlings. He has studied improv with Armando Diaz, Joe Bill, Micheal Gelman, Sean Conroy, Kevin Kirkpatrick and many more. He currently lives in Boulder, CO where he performs regularly with The Front DeRanged Improv Comedy Troupe, Improv Boulder House Team, Welcome to the Dojo, and the Chaos Bloom Mainstage Players Denver.Please send questions via email to cynthia@improvboulder.com.

Join us on Friday, September 18th 8pm for our monthly Improv Comedy show, Improvarama at Louisville Underground
Your suggestions will drive the show as these performers make up the funny right on the spot. Come early, play some games in the arcade, and grab a bite to eat and a drink beforehand. The comedy is clean but this event is 21+. Doors open at 7 pm and the show starts at 8 pm.
You'll enjoy three dynamic improv teams: the premier performance of a new Improv Boulder team, aka Greg's team; house team, Trust Fall Incident; and
a surprise guest team.Come early to hang out, play some games at Tilt, and grab a drink or dinner before the show (there's a new delicious menu from Rocket Dogs)!
The laughs are clean(ish), and the event is strictly 21+.
