Photowalk: Active Tournament at Urban War Zone Paintball Course

Those who know me know I enjoy photographing rare and interesting things, like bad weather and the interior of abandoned buildings. What could be more unusual that getting into the battle grounds and photographing a live paintball fight?

This photowalk offers a rare opportunity to photograph dynamic action shots of players engaged in a competitive paintball battle. We'll have the unique opportunity to immerse ourselves in the heart of paintball action, capturing players as they strategize, engage, and celebrate their victories.​

We will be shooting the morning event, which will provide excellent lighting conditions, enhancing the quality of our shots. Whether you're aiming to freeze high-speed action or explore creative motion blur techniques, this environment offers a plethora of opportunities.​

IMPORTANT INFO:

• Photography Bags: I strongly recommend not bringing "nice" camera bags, as the paint is impossible to remove from material.
• Protective Gear: Paintball protective gear will be provided to all participants.​
• Clothing: Please wear clothing that you don't mind getting stained, as photographers will be considered targets of paintball action.
• Safety: Be aware that paintball impacts can cause bruising. While the provided gear offers protection, it's not foolproof.​
• Waivers: All participants will need to sign a waiver before entering the play area.​

TIPS

• Remember: composition is key. So is ducking.
• Nothing improves focus like incoming fire.
• Back-button focus is helpful — especially when the front button is covered in paint.
• Feel free to ask players to redo their dramatic rolls or yells — they love being directed mid-battle.
• Please avoid using flash. It will give away your location.
• Try putting your camera in silent shutter mode for the same reason.
• "Battle Blur" is the effect caused by paint on your front lens.

PARKING:
Parking is available in front of the venue. Please arrive early to secure a spot, as spaces may fill up quickly.
