O'Neill Regional Park Hike + Optional Shrine Trail (Level 2)

O'Neill Regional Park is situated in the beautiful Trabuco and Live Oak Canyons. The park is heavily wooded with coast live oak and sycamore trees. The hillsides surrounding the park are filled with cactus, wild buckwheat, sagebrush and chaparral of scrub oak, buckthorn and mountain mahogany.

We will start from the Live Oak Trail and take a vista break at the Vista Point. Then we will proceed down to the Vista Point Trail, Hoffman Homestead Trail and the Live Oak Canyon Trail (paved road) to the group picnic tables near the entrance of O'Neill Park. We will have a snack and restroom is available there. Then we will take Live Oak Trail all the way back to our cars.

Distance: 7.5 miles
Elevation Gain: 1300 ft

For Shrine Trail - add another 1.5 mile
